Gomero has received an initial order for three SIPP Nodes for a new solar power plant in Queensland, Australia, through its partner KingHill. The order comes from contractor Yurika, who are wholly owned by grid company Energy Queensland. The end customer is the global Spanish energy company Iberdrola.

With SIPP, the solar power plant meets market requirements for safety, sustainability, and maintenance optimisation. Installation of SIPP is planned for mid-September 2025, with the facility expected to be operational in October/November.

"The order strengthens Gomero’s presence in Australia and marks our entry into the solar power market, a rapidly growing segment. Having a global player like Iberdrola choose SIPP is also an important success that opens up opportunities for more business. The need to digitalise and streamline maintenance in the energy sector continues to grow," says Jan-Eric Nilsson, Chief Executive of Gomero.

Iberdrola Australia is currently developing Broadsound Solar Farm and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Clarke Creek, Queensland. The solar park will have a capacity of up to 377 MW and the BESS facility 180 MW/360 MWh. The project is Iberdrola's first in Queensland and is designed to supply 145,000 households with electricity.

"Australia is investing heavily in renewable energy, but is also a conservative market where changes take time. Achieving a breakthrough within a new segment is therefore particularly significant here, where requirements for safety and sustainability are high. Technical approvals and several successful installations at Australian grid companies have made Gomero and SIPP perceived as innovative in the digitalisation of maintenance work," says Jonas Lindholm, Chief Executive of KingHill.
